If you like my Giant (Building Block) prints, please support by tipping me. Thanks! Here are the files for the 5 x scale (Building Block) Technic motors I designed to make my Giant (Building Block) Go-Kart radio controlled! Files are provided as-is. There are two versions of the motor, the shells of these two motors are the same, but the front mounting plates and motor mount plates differ.:

Steering motor uses a brushed style motor with planetary gearbox and potentiometer feedback via a T2.5 belt.

Drive motor uses a brushless SK3 motor with T5 pulley to transfer power to the (Building Block) axles.

Motor parts used:

SK3 3548-700KV Brushless motor

80A Brushless ESC for R/C car

940D Motor with 264:1 planetary Gearbox

Sparkfun Monster Moto Shield

Bourns 6630 Series 5K Potentiometer

Potentiometer timing Belt 58 tooth T2.5 6mm x 145mm or RS part: 474-4990

Warning !! I tried a couple of cheap clones of the Monster Moto Shield by Sparkfun, and they were terrible! One of them had a broken channel, and the other just didn't operate as expected. I have read various warning on-lin with these clones, they heat up much more than the real deal and thus are pretty dangerous.. avoid the clones!! Parts required to complete the electrical connections in the motors and connector plugs:

Stereo 1/4" jack socket RS part: 208-3849

Stereo 1/4" jack plug or RS part: 813-8844

Mono 1/4" jack socket or RS part: 205-5440

Mono 1/4" jack plug or RS part: 813-8835

The (Building Block) Antenna has a recess in the base that will take a small Orange R610V2 receiver, however, I had issues with my receiver and so didn't use it for my tests.. see video.
