Modified Control Horn
thingiverse
This is my modification of the SP0NZ Control Horn, boasting a significant weight reduction from approximately 0.64 grams per horn down to around 0.37g by subtly decreasing its length and slashing thickness from 2mm all the way down to 1.75mm. Snapshots clearly illustrate the size and weight disparity between my revised control horn and the original SP0NZ Control Horn, using identical print settings. The control horn remains robust enough for most flight control surfaces. Furthermore, I have added a beveled edge to the portion of the horn that interfaces with the foam, giving it a cutting edge when positioning. Additionally, I shaved 1mm off the bottom surface to avoid encroaching on the opposite side of standard 5mm thick foamboard. The holes still accommodate standard 0.039" pushrods.
