This is an improved version of the 'Makergear M2 V4 Easy Access Filament Drive V2' by SCHEMENKE. I widened the filament path as I experienced issues with the filament binding in its original course. Since the filament passes through a gap before entering the hot end, having a bit more space doesn't seem like an issue to me. I have not encountered any problems with my printing. The V4 hot end is exceptional - if you own an M2 and don't possess the V4, it's an excellent upgrade. I have also included a 'blank pivot' as an OpenSCAD module and a version of the pivot that accommodates a AccuRemote Digital Indicator Gauge (available on Amazon) for bed leveling. I have also included a Z Axis Spacer that keeps the stage one centimeter from the tip of the hot end. I typically use the Simplify 3D Bed Leveling tool with manual setpoints adjusted so that the tip of the gauge is over each of the three setscrews and the fourth symmetric location. When starting the leveler, I insert the Z Axis spacer to prevent the bed from moving too close to the hot end, then remove it during the first move to the setpoint. After leveling, if I have moved the stage significantly, I adjust the Z Axis set screw to make the final adjustment of hot end clearance from the bed. I print the pieces with Atomic PETG+CarbonFiber at medium resolution. The PETG with Carbon Fiber is stiff and resilient. The gauge fits securely in place, so I don't need a bolt to secure it to the pivot; however, the hole is there for added security if necessary.
