Modified Parametric Box with Lid
thingiverse
I needed a box for something and came across LBussy's box on the thingiverse website, which can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1918169. I had experimented with OpenSCAD in the past so decided to modify the design to include some features that I wanted: - optional vent shapes - an option to add embossed text on the lid (note it's easy to make the text go all the way through, but since characters like a 'O' would leave a hollow center, I made it just emboss) - an option to display just the main box or lid so I can create STLs of individual parts Version 4 includes four added holes in both directions for better ventilation and slightly improved centering of holes. I used my MakerBot Replicator 2 printer to print the box, with the following settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.15mm Infill: 25% Notes: I used Gizmo Dorks Grey 1.75mm filament. Here are my print times: Box: 7 hours and 17 minutes Lid: 2 hours and 33 minutes I used Simplify3D as my slicer software.
