Modular amiibo Display Cubes

Like many people I have become obsessed with collecting amiibo figures lately and needed some way to display them. This is my take on a modular display system for amiibo figures. You can print out a simple backdrop display, make an enclosed display cube, or even stack multiple cubes to form a unique display structure. The figures are held securely to the base, and can be read by your Wii U or 3DS while in the display. Instructions I recommend printing out the amiibo_holder_test_print file first to make sure your figure will fit properly before printing out the whole base. The figure should be held securely in place with the clip. Once you dial in the dimensions, transfer them to the base_regular.scad file and generate a new stl to print. ---------------To make an enclosed display cube--------------- -1 display base (regular or large) regular displays will fit most amiibos -4 post_two_panel -1 top_section -1 top_retainer -Create a custom image for your background and print on card stock or photo paper (display holds a 85mm X 87mm image) -Cut out side, front, and top panels out of clear plastic sheet. If you still have your amiibo boxes, you can recycle them for this display. Cut your plastic to these dimensions (may vary): -Front/Back Panel 85mm X 87mm -Side Panels- 65mm X 87mm -Top Panel- 85mm X 64mm ---------------For simple background display--------------- 1- display_base 2- post_single_panel 1-top_single_panel -Create a custom background as mentioned above For stacking displays, just use an extra base in place of one of the top sections. For the majority of figures, the "regular" size base will work. But for larger figures such as Bowser, you will need to print the "large" base. Charizard should also fit but I am not 100% sure since I do not have one yet. I included the nameplates of all the amiibo figures up to Wave 4 in a zip file. I also included the nameplate.scad file so you can generate your own. I used white acrylic paint on the raised lettering. I have also done a 2 color print with my single extruder printer. The "Zelda" and "Sheik" nameplates were made by pausing the print and changing the filament before the first. lettering layer started. Its a fairly easy process and gives a nice look to the nameplates. I included all the openscad files for each part so you can modify as needed. Make larger and/or taller displays for irregular figures, or increase the slot thickness to allow for thicker plastic panels, etc.. This is my first openscad project and I tried to make them easy to read. But I would appreciate any feedback.
