Modular arcade stick case - Swappable button layouts

thingiverse

This is a modular arcade stick with swappable top plates so you can try different button layouts for various games. Its intended for Sanwa-style 24/30mm buttons and joysticks, so its compatible with most 3rd party arcade components. Depending on your printer's tolerances you may need to take a hobby knife and shave the holes to be a bit wider to fit the buttons, but this is preferable to the buttons being loose and wobbly! For a full stick, I suggest printing two shells and then plastic cementing/supergluing them together side-by-side. I have included a compact top plate designed for use with a single shell as well. To make your own top plates, you can open the attached FreeCAD file and adjust as desired. Make sure you leave enough space for the usb joystick board to fit somewhere. For quick printing, I used a 0.8mm nozzle with 0.55mm layer height. I recommend printing the top plates face-down so the smooth print surface side will be face-up when installed.
