This project was designed for the student virtual prototyping design challenge. The design I came up with is a modular desk organizer. Once you print it out there is no post-printing needed to be done, you just print out the parts and connectors and slide the pieces together. There are six designs for you to choose from and if you want to make your own here is a link to the Tinkercad file for the slide and connector. https://www.tinkercad.com/things/1sFy8TVer5n-slide-connectors-for-desk-organizer If you want to edit the files in Tinkercad this is the link. https://www.tinkercad.com/things/jPjvxUlRzMW-modular-desk-organizer This would help students with virtual learning keep their things organized. From post-it notes to index cards there is a holder for it. I have found that this helps me during school and I think it could help others as well. The biggest issue I had with the design was finding the right tolerances for the slide. I had to try a few test prints but in the end, I got a connector that slides nicely into the other parts. If I were to design this again I would make more parts and make the connector better. 3D printing would help strengthen the design by allowing it to be customizable.
