Modular Hexagonal Shelf & Drawers - Mk 1

Modular Hexagonal Shelf & Drawers - Mk 1

thingiverse

Modular, hexagonal shelf and drawer design I made with a double-dovetail interlocking pattern. You can mount one module wherever you want, and then slot in a couple others without need for extra screws every time. Includes files for different sizes of shelving as well as versions without those ugly screw holes. I recommend printing more screw-hole-shelves when using the larger models. You can mount it parallel to the floor, or point-side down. There are different types of drawers for the different alignments, so make sure you decide the orientation you will mount it with before you print the drawers. If you want to make a custom sized shelf, you can open the model in Fusion360 and edit the "corner_to_corner_length_cm" parameter. Everything else should automatically scale with it, but you can always edit other parameters as you see fit, such as wall thickness and how long you want your shelf to be. Fusion will take care of the rest. You could even go as far as to make a mirrored version if you really wanted to, though you would have to edit the part itself to do so. Feel free to remix this design into whatever you want. Make dividers, change the drawer handles, go wild. One day, I'll make a version for SCAD and upload as a customizer, but for now, Fusion360 is free, and you can get very similar results through user parameters. (Very loosely inspired by Zack Freedman's gridfinity modular storage system.)
