Modular Model Painting Handle

Modular Model Painting Handle This is a cheap but amazing alternative to Citadel's $8 Model Painting Handle that I designed and tested this week. It's modular so that it's very easy to print in sections as needed, and you can leave out the finger rest if you want, or even the handle if you prefer to mount the jaws on a dowel rod. It is assembled with a rubber band and a size 8 screw (1 inch or longer). It is designed to hold base plates of around 25mm (D&D size) up to around 32mm (Warhammer 40K standard size), but you can of course scale it up and use a bigger screw for much larger models. Suggested printing: Supports - not needed unless you really want perfectly round bore holes. Shell - 2 layers for strength and to prevent bad edging. Resolution - I used 0.4mm nozzle with layer height 0.3mm for fast printing. Infill - 26% tri-hexagon is what I almost always use. The handle only needs about 14% tri-hexagon infill. Build Plate Adhesion - Brim is suggested, especially for the Side Extension (finger rest).
