Modular mug tree

Modular mug tree

I designed this modular mug tree for my wife. It can hold two regular mugs per middle (or top) section. I printed two middle sections and one top (and the base). I updated the clearances because they were a bit too generous, so the internal cylinders are 14mm in diameter whereas the holes in the sections are 14.5mm (14.8mm was a bit too much for my taste). The idea is that the sections can rotate, because we have the mug tree on a shelf with restricted access. With 14.8mm they can rotate super easily, so I have reduced it to 14.5mm. The idea behind the decorative balls is that each ball has a unique colour so that the mug on that branch belongs to a member of the family or optionally to a different team member in the office. Don't forget that you cannot move the entire thing by picking it up from the top! You will have to hold the mug tree by the large base, which is super stable.
