Modular Periscope with lens covers

thingiverse

This is my take on the periscope designs I've seen here on thingiverse. Main difference is the inclusion of a lens cover system and the ability to use Mylar instead of glass. Mylar is cut to size (via included stencil) and glued to the inside of the mirror cover part. Can still be used with regular mirrors if needed, just tape or wrap wire around the bottom of the main periscope body. The lens system has an inner ring, that goes over the periscope main body tube. A thin piece of PET plastic (can use soda bottles) is then cut via the included lens stencil. This piece is then put in between the inner and outer ring pieces. One innovation is to utilize window tint material, if available. Apply to the PET sheet before cutting. This PET piece with window tint can then be used on the upper part of the periscope. This will reduce transmittance somewhat, but should also reduce others from seeing the reflection of the mirror. I have yet to print this but will update once done. I figured it'd be best to get it out there asap given current events. 4/19/2022 Update I altered the Periscope Body File. The former one was partially blocking the view. Also I have discovered that having two of the periscope tubes makes the image kinda small. Utilizing just one tube seems to achieve better results.
