Modular Plastic Conveyor Belt

Modular Plastic Conveyor Belt

This is a custom design for a modular plastic conveyor belt. I started by designing the belt links and sprockets. I went on to design and print the majority of a working conveyor belt that can run via a dc motor or a stepper motor (as shown). It also accepts a Koyo Encoder for tracking motion. After some adjustments it runs smoothly and without problems. Please see the "LEGO converyor" for more details... Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 20% Notes: The entire print is ABS. The sprockets and belt links were printed in fine resolution. The rest was printed in fast mode. Post-Printing All of the plastic connects to two 1" 8020 aluminum extrusions. Mine were 10" in length. I used pieces of extra filament to connect the links together. I had to clean out some of the holes with a drill bit. The pieces that attach to the 8020 use the standard 1/4" hardware. The stepper motor, encoder etc use m3 screws (8mm mostly, 1" length for encoder -- didn't test that yet). I used 1/4" d shafts from robotshop. The bearings and other parts came from there too. I can provide more detail on parts if people are interested.
