Modular Student Desk Organizer

This is a design that I made to help students who are going through school virtually. It was made to help students keep track of their resources and organize their supplies. I made the design modular so that anyone can customize and expand the model to fulfil any purpose that they might find for it. This model is something that I use at home to help me with my schoolwork, and I believe many others will find it just as useful as I do. This model was designed using Fusion 360, and the modules were printed on a Creality3D Ender 3 and a MakerBot Replicator. One issue that I found when making the model was that the hexagons had a difficult time fitting together. I tried a few different ways to fix this, from simply changing the size of the bumps and holes to experimenting with completely different ways to attach the modules. After lots of trial and error, I think that I found the best and least complicated way to connect everything. If I could redesign the model, one thing that I would change would be the corners of the main piece. I would angle them more so that they're flush with the other modules when they're attached. This would make the assembled version look more smooth and connected than it does in this rendition. 3D printing helped to strengthen my model a lot by showing me flaws that I overlooked while designing it. A good example of this is with the hexagons fitting together as I described above, or how the different modules fit into the slots on the main piece, and if I had to make the slots larger or smaller.
