The proposed modular product line for watches by Carus allows for both customization and increased revenue through accessory purchases. Accessories offer a chance to reach users of other brands, expanding the target market for an elegant docking station. The basic system features a phone dock and charging pad, with a front speaker and microphone enabling phone usage while docked. Various custom modules can be added to enhance functionality, including an engravable elevated charging pad, single-piece watchband charger, nightlight, tablet docking port, expansion ports, and support for future connector standards. These modules can be easily swapped by the customer due to connectors and electronics beneath them. Creative ideas like eyeglass holders or Post-It note pads are also possible, not requiring power. To accommodate varying phone sizes and cases, a large phone cavity is proposed with custom inserts available for each generation of phone. This not only provides personalization options but also offers Carus additional revenue opportunities.
