I really liked the design of this Modular Wire Spool Holder but did not have any m3 rod on hand and I personally like it when fasteners can also be 3d printed. So I adjusted the design to use 3d printed fasteners as well so the entire thing can be constructed without any other items needed. It's designed for reels with a 20mm width and up to 60mm / 25.5mm diameter All parts are placed already in the orientation I printed them. All parts are printed vertically so that the forces don't fall across the print layer boundaries but rather across layers. Some might need a raft to print without the part unsticking but I did not. Parts were printed with supports but at a very low percentage and using tree supports since they were found to be way easier to remove. This uses tiny butterfly joints that fit in between each of the spools and holds them tight. They are already scaled properly to fit into the holes but you may need tiny adjustments based on your own printer. The size that I have them currently fit very snugly and hold the thing together very tightly. There are 2 butterfly joints going vertically that can be seen as alignment joints and then there is one more hole in the front for the longer join cap with the hole in it. This last one can be seen as a lock as it is perpendicular to the other ones and will stop most of the slippage. It has a hole it in to try to make it easier to pull out in case of disassembly. Parts List: mainBody - Main container for the wire spools. Largest component (2h 10m print time for me) sidePiece - Wall piece for the end of a chain of mainBody parts linked together. (1h 10m print time for me) joinCap - Fastener that goes in between the large pieces to hold them together. This is for the top and the bottom holes on the mainBody and sidePiece parts. (5m print time for 1) holeCap - Fastener that is built to be easily removable and fit into the front hole of the mainBody and sidePiece parts. Acts as a locking joint and stops sliding of the other joints. (10m of print time for 1) ReelCenteringUnit - Centering piece that sits inside the wire spools and allows the spools to float within the mainBody. (25m of print time for 1) reelDisc/reelCore - If you need a new reel printed. Not needed if you already have one.
