Monoprice Pro Mk. 1 / Wanhao Duplicator 9 Spool Holder This is a pretty straight forward spool holder that will resemble the OEM metal one that your printer came with. I designed the spool holder to match the 1.5" 8020 aluminum extrusion. On first impression it appears to be robust enough to support a fully loaded spool but we'll see how it performs over time. This is not meant to be be a final version and there are lots of ways that it could be tweaked. I simply was looking to add another spool to my machine for quicker changing. ***This original design that is uploaded here, works fine but I have designed a more robust model and will add it after using it awhile. The beefier version has been uploaded and it does provide more stability. I have (2) of the beefy mounts on my gantry and really like the them... in addition if you ever have a need to transfer filament from one spool to another the set-up works really well. Since the Mk. 1 uses standard 80/20 aluminum 15 series (1515) extrusion for the frame and gantry it's easy to add accessories. I simply made the spool holder to bolt to the gantry and frame using 5/16" t-slot hardware. I had the t-slot hardware already but don't stress about it if you don't have it because there are lots of ways to connect to the t-slots on the aluminum extrusion. I've included pictures that shows how to mount the spool holder (as well as other things) using common carriage bolts in the extrusion t-slot. I printed the spool holder on it's side at .2 resolution with a 2mm shell and 50% infill.
