Main purpose for the redesign was to shorten the arm so it's centered on 80mm wide spools (the attached photo shows my first design which was about 10mm too long. That's been fixed and is now centered on the spool). I also moved the arm to the other side of the mounting plate to save on material. Overall it reduced the volume by about 33% compared to other similar designs. The opening is 4mm, which fits the short PTFE tubing that came with my Monoprice Maker Select Plus printer. This allows the filament to better glide though and stay straight (doesn't curly-q). After a few prints, the tubing would slide out, so I ended up putting a touch of super glue to hold it in place. Although modeled after other designs, it was completely redesigned from the ground up, fixing mesh holes and various other issues I found with other designs. Note: This required longer mounting bolts on my printer.
