Moon bump mapped (like THE BEST one on Thingiverse if I do say so myself)

thingiverse

I searched a zillion sites for a bump mapped moon without distortion. The couple on thingiverse are either pretty low-res, or have significant distortions about the pole. The heck with it, I thought, off to learn UV mapping in blender. I downloaded NASA high res topos of the moon and finally figured out after hours and hours how to make a moon (or any planet really) without significant distortion at the poles. Yes, uv wrapping what eventually ends up a sphere does distort a bit at the poles and it really can not be helped. BUT, once printed, you can not see the ever so slight pinch in the last 1% of the model (well, maybe Neil deGrasse Tyson could, and if you're on here - just zip the lip smart guy). No huge rifts like the other guys model. No low res mess up poles either. EDIT: Added compressed file that contains original and shell only version. With the shell only you can bisect and print vase mode or use infill and print solid. Original one had inner wall so you had to monkey with it for a solid model
