This is an upgrade I made from the plain lamp. it works by using PWM to change from a full white moon to a Blood moon. the circuit is fairly simple and can easily be built by a novice. Credit to ELCIRCUIT.com for the base circuit. I changed and added a few things, but still feel credit is due. Parts List: 1x AC - DC Converting Cable (I just used an old charging cable - 5V dc 700mA) 1x Voltage Stepper 1x LED Flip Switch 1x 555 Timer 1x IRF530 MOSFET 1x White Power LED (10W) 1x Small LED (to check for power to the 555 timer. LED shown on circuit image added) 1x 10nF Capacitor 1x 100nF Capacitor 1x 47uF (35V) Capacitor (Polarised) 1x 10K Potentiometer 1x Potentiometer Knob 1x 1K8 Resistor 1x 10K Resistor 2x 1N4148 Diodes 2x Red LEDs 2x 330 Resistors (for the Red LEDs) The LED Support Plate is glued on the underside of the opening where the moon model is placed. The Power LED is mounted on the LED Support Plate with the 2 Red LEDs mounted on either side of it. For the best results, I set the voltage stepper to an output of 17V and I believe the current is at 500mA which is powering the White LED.
