Moon topography

Moon topography

thingiverse

This is my variant of a high resolution moon topography globe which has an "aesthetically pleasing" vertical exaggeration. Most of the models on Thingiverse were intended as or are derived from lithophanes - thus they actually have a relatively low relief and many of the subtle features are only evident when lit up from within. This version is designed to print in 2 halves which do not need support and are then glued together with superglue. If you wish to compare the earth and moon in correct relative size, use the "mini moon" files - which is sized correctly relative to my Earth topography (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3561651) and recently updated version which opens to reveal the core (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3561651). You won't see much detail though unless you are using something like a 0.25 mm nozzle!
