This is a grip and sheath I've designed for the Mora Knife (MoraKniv) blank. The blank (the blade only) was purchased on Amazon for $9. I measured it with calipers and created a CAD file in SpaceClaim. Since I am doing a Boolean cut on the grip, the blade model has been extended .004" on all sides to allow clearance for insertion. The Mark One printer allows you to pause on a layer to insert objects. It also creates geometric fill patterns (honeycomb, triangular, etc.), so it is very light and rigid and it will float if dropped in the water. The grip was designed from a hand-formed clay impression that I scanned with the Geomagic Capture scanner. I then used Geomagic Wrap to do an automatic NURBS surface on the resulting mesh and I used that NURBS model to do a Boolean cut on the sheath in SpaceClaim. The thin areas on the sheath should have just enough flex to allow the grip to insert smoothly and stay securely in place.
