More Comfortable HTC Vive Welding Headgear Bracket

More Comfortable HTC Vive Welding Headgear Bracket

I wanted a more comfortable Vive experience, and bought the Miller welding headset (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073QY6B7Y). I trimmed off the brow strap, as it is redundant with the Vive facemask and just gets in the way. However, with the original bracket, the plastic was pushing into my head, and would cause pretty intense pain after about a half hour of use. I looked at the width of the headgear and noticed that it was being compressed by about 10mm from its natural width. I added some width to the bracket to reduce the compression, and viola! No more pain! The part can be adjusted further with the width variable in OpenSCAD. Big thanks to nw15062 and Jangrewe for their work on this.
