Take a Bite out of Malaria!My design proposal for a "Mosquito Trap", using the fact, that a ball has the smallest surface, in relation to its volume, in comparision to all other geometrical bodys.With other words: minimum surface and maximum volume - that's the advantage of a ball.My model consists of 3 components, whereby one component (inserted disc) is optional.Into the lower spherical shell you can flll in water, up to a defined level.The upper spherical shell can close the complete system by a bayonet lock.Radial placed slots at the upper shell are the entry for the blood-sucking insects.A perforated disc, placed over the supplied water is an option only and - may be -not mandatory necessary.If an escape route for mosquitos is possible, can show an experiment only.The size of 3D printer bed – 10” x 10” x 10” has been considered.My model must not be scaled for 3D printing.The model is available in following data formats:STEP-file(s) (.stp) of the complete assembly and each component.STL-file (.stl) of each component.Native files in a (.zip)-folder, for users of »PTC Creo Parametric 2.0«
