Made with Solid Edge ST10.Unfortunately, having the academic license meant that I could not use the Generative Design as a design body and hence it would not render with Keyshot.Housing 1.asm should be treated as a single part because the upper dome had to have the Generative Design applied separately. This part is then fitted into Housing 2.par such that it can be removed later for cleaning.The Generative Design of the upper dome resulted in a 40% mass reduction of this portion of the model.This mosquito trap serves two functions. Firstly, a water/detergent trap is located at the base of the model. Along with a lure of some sort such as sugar, mosquitoes will be attracted into this area where they will be unable to land properly on a detergent surface. Secondly, the upper dome acts as a potential housing for small animals such as birds or geckos. With mosquitoes already being attracted to the area, the animals provide extra control to an extended area with their mobility. Food could be placed into the dome to provide extra incentive for these animals to come. Additionally, with no electronic parts or relative moving components (excluding taking apart for cleaning), this design is relatively eco-friendly and durable.
