Still Work in progress - non the less very effective :) After the first test run of the Makita router, was clear to me that i badly need a dust shoe, as the Makita blows its exhaust direct down and blowing all the dust all over the place. With that put together this, and have to say its very effective at its job. Here are a few possibilities for you, you can take the full mount with wings attached, and print it all out in one go. But you'll need supports and it may take a very long time to complete as a whole. Only the mount took me good 12 hours to print and each wing almost a hour, looking at it has to prints supports don't even want to imagine how long it would take. So you can take the 4 wings and glue them on. I used double composite epoxy glue but that may gave been a overkill as the wings don't hold much weight just keep the dust shoe in place. The bottom part of the dust shoe is meant to be covered up with a acrylic top so you can see whats the machine doing. The assembly of the dust shoe is still experimental but seems to work well for me. In the STL there are no holes made. I drilled the holes my self and put in PC mother board standoffs, so that i have a thread inside and that i can screw the acrylic top on and off as many times as i want. When i'll mange ill make a file on how to cut the acrylic but for now, do it by hand. Once you have inserted the motherboard standoffs mark of the holes in the top for the screws and put on your tool and mark of the center of the drill bit and make a hole so that the tool can come down. Also drill out a hole at the back of the shoe where the vacuum attachment is. For assembling the slider i used 8mm aluminum 40cm long ( could be lot shorter, cut as needed) and four x 8mm linear bearings. If your gonna glue the wings on the mount, make sure you line it up with the sliding mechanism and then glue it with the slider part on, so the proper distance will be achieved and the dust shoe will slide freely in the end i installed 2 LED strips on each side of the mount so i can see whats going on :) Custom Section
