Check out this handy-dandy tool that allows a chain's ends to mate up perfectly so that you can effortlessly insert and install the connecting link. Just thread the chain through the front and rear sprockets and snap the chainlink tool into place and the thing practically installs itself from then on. Face it, you owe me. You know you do.
