Motorcycle Helmet Cam

Cheap Motorcycle equivalent of dash-cam. Instructions Love GoPro, love the idea and safety of dash-cam. But GoPro is too expensive for me (losing £250 is too much) and GoPro is too big and heavy for me to feel comfortable with it mounted to my crash helmet, so I came up with this. Tip: Once little fingers have been on lens it is a good idea to clean it. Camera is currently available on EBay for £3.50, search for "Spy Pen Camera", typical: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30fps-Mini-USB-Spy-Pen-DVR-Video-Hidden-Camera-Digital-Camcorder-DVR-up-to-32GB-/271482826360?pt=UK_CCTV&hash=item3f35a32e78 When I bought them they were £10 and I have bought 4 so far (for various people). They come from China or Hong Kong, so expect a wait. There are various different types (mega pixel sizes) and you don't always know which one you are getting (pot luck), but they all seem really good for the price. Wide angle lens is currently available on Ebay for £1.58, search for "magnetic wide angle lens", typical: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Magnetic-0-67X-Wide-Angle-Macro-Lens-for-Apple-iPhone-4S-4G-3GS-iPod-touch-K-/170839605159?pt=UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item27c6d57fa7 You will need an MMc, I use 16GB. So, cost is roughly £3.50 + £1.58 + plastic (for printing) + MMc, compares quite well to GoPro for £250. Basically, print it, put it together as shown by the exploded diagrams, use it. This design is perfect for fitting to my ViPER open face crash helmet, this does not mean it will work with yours without editing. When you get the Spy Pen Cam, unscrew pen bottom (don't need that). Remove pocket clip (don't need that, gets in way of lens). It's still a work in progress, I have tried jelly wide angle lens, didn't like it, this one is better. I have a fish-eye, but I think that will be worse. It could do with changing colour to black etc. Now modified bracket to angle mount by 5 degrees, road better centred in video.
