I have spent some time refining the design of the original phone mount. Some updates listed below: - Added a cutout to the base to make it easier to get the phone out - Reduced the size of the sunshade on the top as I found it unnecessarily big - For the mounts I updated the design so that flexible filament inserts can be used to help grip the mounting bar - For the Africa Twin I designed a high mount - to mount above the instrument cluster instead of on the handle bar - Mounts all bolt fast now, no zip ties. Designed recesses to integrate the nut into the clamp to make it easier to mount and looks better Again all the phone holders are made to fit specific phone cases as indicated below. Myself and a few friends have been running these on our bikes for over a year now without any issues. The red PLA printed for the friend with the Beemer has started to fade a lot from stand in the sun, another print in blue has faded much less. White or grey are probably the best options. Also, a small note on copyright: With my previous thing I had a German motorcar and motorcycle manufacturer file a DMCA against my design and it got taken down for a few days. My only 'crime' was mentioning the manufacturers name in my description and design file names. I will be avoiding the manufacturers' name in my post but it's easy to work out, they are world famous for their 1200 (now 1250) boxer engines and also the 800 (now 850) rotax engine. # Files ## Motorcycle Mounts ### Honda Africa Twin - CRF1000 **CRF1000_Mount_High - Insert.stl** - Print in Flexible, vertical orientation **CRF1000_Mount_High - Mount.stl** - PLA or PETG, **CRF1000_Mount_High_Clamp - Insert.stl** - Print in Flexible, vertical orientation **CRF1000_Mount_High_Clamp - Mount.stl** - PLA or PETG ### 'That German Motorcycle Brand' - F800GSA **F800_base_mount - Insert.stl** - Print in Flexible, vertical orientation **F800_base_mount - Mount.stl** - PLA or PETG **F800_Clamp_New - Clamp.stl** - PLA or PETG **F800_Clamp_New - Insert.stl** - Print in Flexible, vertical orientation ## Phones ### iPhone 7 with Griffen Survivor case **iPhone7_case_bottom.stl** - PLA or PETG **iPhone7_case_top.stl** - PLA or PETG ### iPhone X with Speck Presidio Pro case **iPhoneX_case_bottom.stl** - PLA or PETG **iPhoneX_case_top.stl** - PLA or PETG ### Common files **iPhone_case_clip.stl** - PLA or PETG # Assembly The following hardware is required: 4x M4x15 counter sunk stainless steel screw 3x M4x34 cap head stainless steel screw 7x M4 nylock nut CRF1000 only: 4x M4x20 cap head stainless steel screw and additional 4x M4 nylock nut Use the 3x M4x34 to secure the top lid to the base of the phone older at the two hinges and the case clip on the other side. Secure with nylocks. Then I recommend using a bit of superglue (CA glue) to secure the flex inserts inside the mount and clamps - it makes life easier when mounting. Additionally you can seat the nylock nuts into the clamps with some superglue too. Make sure you don't get any glue in the threads. To mount on the German motorcycle: Put the M4x15 screws through the bottom case, through the mounts and screw into the clamps. To mount on the CRF1000: attach the "stalk" mounts to the bottom cover with the counter sunk screws. Then mount the stalks to the top windscreen bar with the 20mm cap head screws.
