This is a new version of the motorized bogie for the Hectorrail 141. I decided to publish it on a separate page because this bogie can be used to create custom locomotives. Main difference from original version is that the main frame is divided to make assembly much easier, and the connecting shaft is 3mm as well as the wheel shafts. The frame also has room for ball bearings of the same size (6mm OD, 3mm ID, 2.5mm T) that is used for the wheels. However, the frame is made so that you don't have to have the ball bearings installed. Because of the printing process, you might need to drill the hole for this shaft a bit as there are several edges that needs to have enough clearance. This page includes two motor mounts, one for 16mm motors and gearbox that has long shafts (Maxon DCX16 with GPX16), and one for motor+gearbox with short shaft. The motor mount slides on the main frame, and you will most likely have to use substantial force to get it in position, but this way it will sit much tighter than the old design and there is no screws in the way of the drive gears. Instead, the locking plate is fastened with 4pcs M2x10-12. Hardware needed Ballbearings: 6mm OD, 3mm ID, 2.5mm Th. Connecting shaft: 3mm thickness 39-40mm length Wheel shafts: 3mm thickness 44mm length (2pcs/bogie) Distance between inner side of wheels: 28mm Screws holding center hub: M3x18 (2pcs / bogie) Screw holding bogie to locomotive: M3x20 IMPORTANT! The dimensions shown are only a starting point. The gears are so small so depending on the print settings and the obtained quality, you will need to adjust their positions. Install the motor last, in that way you can check how easily the wheels turn. If they snag, the gears are too tight. If you can hold one shaft still and turn the other the gears are too loose and skip. Adjust them until they work as desired. So do not expect the positions in the STEP-file to work perfect for your print. The step file is included for those who like to modify the system. Included in the package are both wheels with slots for O-rings, meant for the driving bogie, but also a flat wheel as you can build the same bogie without any gears or motor mount and use as the non-motorized bogie.
