I did not have a motor for this model so I re-designed it to use a Lego motor instead. I used an XL motor as it has the lowest RPM. The gearing reduces the XL motor down to 22.5 RPM. An M or L motor will run a bit faster (~42-48 RPM) so will require further reduction. The first working version (Version 2) I designed used studded Technic Lego but I redesigned the whole base to use more modern stud-less pieces instead with connector pegs and M3 beams connecting the M15 Beams to the base. I also re-modelled all the pieces of the model , enlarging all the holes to use Lego axles as the bearings. The drive gear uses a cross axle and I increased the cross dimensions by 5% as my printers dimensional tolerances are not accurate enough and even 5% larger the axle hole required a little filing.
