Build yourself a high quality motorized Slider for about a hundred euros. In "One way" operation (after a short press on one of the buttons), the carriage stops by itself at the end of its travel. In "Go and return" operation (after a long and simultaneous press on both buttons), the carriage goes back alone in the opposite direction when it reaches the end of the rail. The speed is adjustable : The carriage runs through the rail in 48 seconds when the speed is at minimum and 8 seconds when the speed is at maximum. The Slider can be used on the floor with its height adjustable feet, but it can also be used on a tripod (RC2 quick release plate). It can be positioned horizontally but the motor has enough torque to perform vertical traveling.
