Motorized Turntable using 130 size DC Motor

This is a motorized turntable using a 17k rpm 130-size DC motor. It's also an educational toy, showing how you can reduce a very high speed, low torque motor right down to a speed slow enough to be used as a display turntable. Now it's not the most stable turntable in the world. This was more an exercise in experimentation with gears and to prove it's possible to reduce speeds and increase torque. This is a work in progress, so if you have any suggestions on how to improve please leave a comment! To make, you'll need a 3v DC 130 size motor and 2 x 25mm M3 screws. The screws will screw directly into the frame. When printing using a brim, ensure you're very careful when removing the brim from the gears. You will need to cut out any leftover brim between the gear teeth with a hobby knife. This is important! If you leave the brim in there, it'll catch on the gears and make everything very difficult to turn. Clean gears will mean you'll have very little resistance and the gear mechanism will turn smoothly. To assemble, you'll need to put 1 x M3 screw in the middle of the top bracket, then stack the gears upside down on top of that. It's a bit fidgety, but fun to put together. If you find the motor gear doesn't turn well, put a little bit of oil or WD-40 in where it connects to the base. There's enough tolerance to let it rotate freely, it might just need a little lubrication every now and then. Hope you enjoy it!
