Mounting Bracket for DAEX58FP Tactile Transducer (for cello)

This summer I've been doing a deep dive on several issues related to the use of tactile transducers in new music contexts. For this installment, I'm sharing the design of a 3D printed bracket that allows for the mounting of a Dayton Audio [DAEX58FP](https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-DAEX58FP-Flat-Pack-58mm-Exciter-25W-8-Ohm-295-210?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=9792868744&utm_content=100758495060&utm_term=&gadid=430004651500&gclid=CjwKCAjw-8qVBhANEiwAfjXLrtOaIE1NC-Ky720FX8btvA88sYldygllLE9Om-06yxZs8BspAh_tWRoCA4UQAvD_BwE) tactile transducer to the back of a cello. The 3D .stl file (linked below), when printed in PLA or ABS, provides an excellent set of mounting points for a DAEX58FP tactile transducer. The circular portion of the 3D print fits snugly and securely over the exciter's magnet and suspension, allowing ample clearance for movement relative to the driver plate as well as venting of the spider. Two steel rods (0.125" in diameter x 1.9" long) are to be inserted in the holes either side of the circular portion such that a 1" wide belting strap can be used to hold the transducer firmly against an instrument or other surface. Tolerance is tight on this print in order to avoid any unwanted mechanical buzzing, so care must be taken in installation to avoid damage to the transducer suspension, or cracking of the mount. For best results, print at 100% infill in horizontal orientation and ream the holes for the steel rods prior to assembly. The steel rod mounting holes needed to be drilled out with 1/8" bit to snugly accept the rod. One might choose to CA glue the rods in place, but I haven't found this necessary. I have also put together a cinching strap made from 1" webbing box stitched with loops at the ends that accepts a parachute buckle for mounting.
