I wanted a set of adjustable legs for my MPCNC that would:

Lock firmly in place once adjusted

Be compatible with (and mount flush to) the existing 'Bottom Corners'

Have a stronger, better looking foot (design 100% inspired by the new foot design by Alted himself) - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:790533

The entire idea inspired by GeoDave's "Customizable Jack Screw" - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2405370.

Update - 29/06/2020 - added two more thread lengths: +25mm and +50mm for those longing for an extra few inches.

Print Settings

Printer:

Wanhao Duplicator 6

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.25mm

Infill:

60%

Notes:

I used PETG for the top and bottom parts, and PLA for the left / right handed threaded shaft. PETG is not as brittle, so the locking screws can be done up much tighter to ensure there is zero play without the fear of cracking them.
Designed for M4 x 15mm locking screws (nut captures are 7mm). I used 4mm hex cap bolts, but phillips screws would be fine. I also used 4mm nylock nuts.
PS - the thumbscrew is quite a tight fit, and will most likely need to be persuaded to take its place over the 26mm nut. I used a small rubber mallet, but pressing it on in a vice would also do the trick.

How I Designed This

Fusion 360 to the rescue

Category: Parts
