I needed a hot-end mount system to accomodate a 40mm noctua x 10mm fan and a radial fan for part cooling. My previous design had some flaws, and I wanted to make some changes to the way it worked so I redesigned this system using USWaterRockets rear carriage design as a base and then built up from there. Some points to bear in mind: * This system most likely requires that the front panel of the tower be removed due to the tight tolerances involved in keeping the nozzle with a zero-offset from stock Prusa MK3 fan shroud compatibility. * This system as mentioned above is compatible with the stock Prusa MK3 fan shroud and other MK3 fan shrouds. This means that you benefit from the fantastic designs with amazing airflow that other people develop, plus if you ever need to replace it, you just remove one screw and it comes off, no need to reprint the entire front section. * There is space to the right and behind of the blower so I can add other attachments, just let me know what you are interested in and I will do my best to facilitate that for you. * All screws are M3, please use adequate lengths to avoid the screws going through too much, for example, the 40mm fan screws can be M3x12, whereas the radial fan screws can be M3x20. The main body screws putting the clamp cover and the rear rail mount together can be M3x20 but they can be as long as you like, for these I would recommend nuts to ensure tight fitment. All other bolts / screws can go straight into the plastic and they will thread directly in. * The belt tightening / fastening bolt holders are simple, though a little tricky to insert. Once in they are fantastic. Not my design, but I didn't see the need to change them as they fit perfectly in the rear of the x carriage. I have included them so that you don't have to go searching for them. Please see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2353376 for further instructions. You may also need to change to GT2 belt, pulley and drive gear (highly recommended anyway and very cheap). * The MK3 fan shroud is an example which I really like and can be found here - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2971474 This is not my design and I do not take credit for it. * Please print it all at least in a suitable material as this will be exposed to high temperatures and may experience warping otherwise (PETG / ABS / Carbonfibre etc). * Use a silicon sock over the heater block, it will avoid problems :) * If you find the MK3 fan shroud needs to be a little further from the print head, then please mount the radial fan with spacers, washers or a nut will do just fine (don't forget the fan shroud itself). It is made this way to be flexible based on your exact setup, so just adjust accordingly. * Due to the tight tolerances (and not wanting to split parts to maintain structural integrity), you will need to use supports (just from the build plate). It does not require much at all, but it means that you can print with the important bits facing up. * Print with 100% infill. * Print one of each STL, but choose which clamp version you like. For the moment there is the vanilla basic one and another with a cable tying post set at an angle. Again, if you require anything specific let me know.
