MS Adelby, Brio Train Ferry

MS Adelby, Brio Train Ferry

thingiverse

I designed this ferry for my children, so they can properly transport their wooden BRIO trains over the seas and lakes of our living room. Thanks to the FabLab Ideenreich of the University of Applied Sciences of my hometown Flensburg, I was able to fully develop the model to an almost professional level. If you build this model, I would really appreciate a picture of the finished ferry and some feedback on how to improve it. The dxf files are provided together with these instructions and the possibilities are endless. The challenge of the design was to find a balance between details and the robustness needed, when young children play with it. Finally, I have the following quick excursion into maritime wordings for you, so you find all the parts: • Bow: Front end of a ship. • Stern: Rear end of a ship. • Port Side: Left side of a ship in the direction of travel. • Starboard Side: Right side of a ship in the direction of travel. 
