## What's the idea? I bought a Thin Client and wanted to use it as a low-performance fanless mini PC. The supplied 2GB IDE flash drive was not big enough for the job, so I wanted to add a little mSATA flash drive. ## What is it? This thing is a mounting chassis for the mSATA flash drive adapter (which is available quite easily on eBay and similar sites). The mSATA adapter needs to be held securely in the case, and this was the purpose of my creation. ## Details of the Thing This thing comes in two parts: + A "mounting chassis" which is what's used to hold the adapter fixed in place within the case of the thin client. This uses three of the mounting screws for the CPU heatsink. Note: The adapter isn't held down by the CPU heatsink screws, so you don't need to remove them. Instead the mounting chassis just slips over the top of the screws, and the thickness of the adapter is held in place by the thin client's case. + A "tray", which is designed to snugly hold the mSATA adapter by not letting it slide around. There are two pegs that stick up from the base, neatly going through the mounting holes for the adapter and preventing it from sliding away. Again, the thickness of the overall thing is held in place when the case is secured, so there is no need for screws to hold it down. ## Assembly The two parts are supplied seperately, to help people (like me!) who have 3D printers with a smaller print bed. The two halves can be easily assembled using a couple of M3 countersunk machine screws / nuts.
