No need to drill holes if you want to add a small mud flap to your Cowboy mudguard. The holder consists of two components. The shell is printed with TPU or another elastic material. It has a hollow profile at the sides where you push in little rails - printed with a rigid material like PLA (red "U"s on the later pictures). The combination sits tightly on the mudguard. The rubber like surface adds to the grip so it can hold itself and a mud flap. The mud flap on the pictures was cut from an old shampoo bottle and is only 0,7 mm thick. Let's see how long it will last. In a similar project for another bike they cut the mud flaps from an old construction bucket. For such small and lightweight flaps the small version works fine. If yours are larger/heavier try the 30mm version. The shell was printed with Fiberlogy Mattflex 40d. The only elastic material i could find with a matte finish. The material comes in 850g spools and is a bit expensive so if you need some of it just contact me. With its perfect layer adhesion the wall thickness of the shell could be minimized to 0,5mm. Still i had to loosen the screws of the front modguard and increase the gap between the tire and mudguard. Please treat this as a fun project. Print shell open side up. Print rails with brim.
