Muffin Splitter

UPDATE 1-19-16 Removing support required care, and the empty triangles added no practical functions, so I made a remix using solid triangles. The new files are- muffin splitter V2 SAE.stl and muffin splitter V2 Metric.stl I printed one. No support, and virtually no extra filament or time was required using an Afinia's default settings. (basically 0.3mm Z, and medium speed) 32 grams, 64 minutes. ,,,,,,,,,, This is a muffin splitter aka muffin fork, intended to create nooks and crannies. I was practicing an "English" muffin recipe, baked a whole lot of muffins, and wanted something to split them properly. Searched for commercial examples. Tried a couple of ideas. This wedge was the simplest to make and worked the best. Just push it into the edge of a (thawed) muffin. Crumbs easily brush off. If used with care there should be no need to wash it. On an Afinia, using default settings, the print was near 60 minutes and used about 30 grams ABS. I chose this flat print orientation to minimize print time and support, to ease the removal of support, and I think the tips are least likely to break off when layers are oriented flat. YMMV. Scaling seems perfectly possible. I sized this to split 3 1/2 inch muffins for the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker. A Metric file is provided.
