Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and is frequently found in the hands hips or knees. According to CDC This affects 30 million adults in the U.S alone. The people with hand arthritis have a very difficult time holding their mugs or cups. A simple solution to this problem is creating a separate mug handle that can attach to the cup or mug giving the people with arthritis less tension and stress on their painful joints. This design consists of a handle connected to a top and bottom rung both identical to each other. The rungs have a simple ratchet system similar to a zip tie, but unlike a zip tie the mechanism is able to be unlocked when needed to change the size of the rungs to fit different sized mugs. The rungs are hollowed for the strap to slide inside so it does not become annoying by poking the user's hand. This design is better than others found on the market because it is able to adjust how it fits to different sized mugs. It would be created using RGD 450 rigur plastic through poly-jet 3D printing. This design could benefit millions by reducing pain and stress in joints in their hands.
