A simple bracket for mounting an extruder/stepper motor at the corner of a 2040/2020 frame. Bracket mounts with 6 (probably excessive but better safe than sorry) M5 bolts and hammer nuts.

I have used this on my CR-10 and so far it is working very well, I have had no extrusion issues since moving it and done several hours worth of prints.

This has made swapping filament so much easier which was always a constant annoyance.

You should be able to mirror this for right hand mounting.

On my Cr-10 I have subsequently added a heat sink and fan to the stepper motor, it ran warmer than I liked originally and as I had removed it from a metal bracket that would be acting as a slight heat sink it seemed like a nice cheap mod. Probably unneeded but not a bad addition even when in original position. The heatsink without a fan makes a big difference if you don't want to go to the effort of wiring up a fan. - An simple fan mount is available - https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/40322-simple-2020-40mm-fan-mount

The bracket also acts as a corner brace which I already had in place(another simple worthwhile mod).

I printed with 50% triangle infill for a stronger part at 0.2mm layer height.

I have included the openscad file if you want to modify.

Print instructions

Category: 3D Printer Parts Summary

A simple bracket for mounting an extruder/stepper motor at the corner of a 2040/2020 frame.
