I designed this LED holder to use temporarily as both the pony projection lamps on my 2013 mustang had broken. The idea is to throw some light on the floor rather than having the messy blob which tends to attract negative attention. I used an 8mm 0.5w straw hat LED, you will also need to connect one of the LED legs to a 0.5W 330 ohm current limiting resistor inline to prevent the LED from being destroyed. To hook up to the power, I soldered wires to 3mm spade terminals as these fit nicely into the factory connector. One of the wires goes to a series resistor and onto one of the LED's legs. The other wire goes straight to a connector, for this I used a MOLEX KK style 3 min connector but you can use anything with 2.54mm pitch. The beauty of this is that you can quickly hook up to the LED and switch polarity if it doesn't light up first time. To keep things splash-resistant, I used shrink sleeving on the wires to prevent accidental shorting. I'll add a connector block for the 3mm spade connectors at a later date
