I thought it would be fun to ask the community to guess at what this useful thing is for. The diameter measures 176mm and about 30mm tall, excluding the "legs". HInts: 1. It looks like a crown but it's not. 2. It is used in this orientation (as pictured), but is printed upside down from this orientation, no supports needed. 3. It needs to be printed with a high temp material, ABS will likely soften in some use cases. I used PC+PBT from Push Plastics. 4. It helps me speed up the time between prints. 5. Look in the tags section for one more clue. Let's see how many people would like to make a guess. I will post the answer by Aug 1. ** REVEALED ** Aug. 5 2021 This thing is a cooling stand for your magnetic print bed. When printing high temperature materials, waiting for the steel print sheet to cool down naturally could take a while (unless you want to buy a second print bed to swap out). That's where the cooling stand comes in. I mounted it on top of my Levoit air purifier, (first, turn the blower on "high" setting), and it cools the print bed from ~110C to ~30C in about 3 minutes, and parts can pop off the print bed without damage to either the part or the magnetic print bed. The 4 "fingers" snap to the grill of the air purifier, and the "crown" spikes space the print bed off and allow air to flow up and out from under the print bed. This air flow does a very fast and effective job at cooling the print bed. Video of thermal imaging as this helps cool down the print bed quickly: https://youtu.be/39ybMEBG1x8 If you decide to make it, please post it and let me know what you think.
