NASA Bucket Drum Design Challenge
grabcad
The human operated a basic scooper as the drum rotated, picking up regolith with each revolution. As the regolith filled the bucket, it was transferred to an internal whirlpool that directed the material towards the center of the drum. Once full and ready to unload, the drum reversed direction. The internal whirlpool then propelled the regolith back out through the scoop buckets. This scooping mechanism was specifically designed for 3D printing applications.
