The above design is a Handrail Clamp Assembly (HCA) which is currently utilized by astronauts to provide rigid mounting locations required in a microgravity environment for normal daily operations. This design is made specifically for NASA Handrail Clamp Assembly Challenge. In this design there are two components, both have slots made in it. Both the clamps get stuck in the slots and thus gets temporarily fixed until some astronaut tries to remove it. The design is simple and will require less material too. The seat track is in either direction which makes this design much more convenient when on tries to assemble it. Will keep on improvising! Happy to design something for NASA UPDATE:- This version has a provision to unhook the upper clamp by simply pressing the handles. Now its more simpler to use.
