Found in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center on the campus of the University of Akron (sketchfab.com/universityofakron). “In 1975, The University of Akron transformed Spicer School to Spicer Hall, which for the next quarter century would house counseling, scheduling, and administrative offices. Four medallions highlighted the entrances to Spicer Hall - each centered in the decorative brick cornice above the terra cotta portals that surround its main doors. The four medallions continue to pay tribute to Akron’s history by invoking that symbol throughout the Student Recreation Center. These large terra cotta pieces, weighing nearly 500 pounds each, were placed here prominently to echo their original installation.” Created in cooperation with the University of Akron and Stewards of Historical Preservation (SHiP) (historicakron.wordpress.com/).
