Finding 12V smart switches proved to be extremely challenging. A WIFI version was eventually discovered that can be configured to work seamlessly with Home Assistant, which prompted the construction of a housing to enclose it and enable it to function as a standard switch while also being controlled by the smart controller. Although this device is primarily cloud-based controlled, it can be configured to operate on local network only if the router has parental controls to block web access to certain devices, requiring some additional effort but ultimately worth it for having a 12V powered smart switch in the long run. An RV with a router installed and WIFI connectivity is required. Internet access is necessary for the initial setup of the switch, but not after setup.
