I have a cheap Yamaha sub woofer that booms too much, it almost sounds like its just an 8inch bass driver connected directly to an amplifier with no filter stage. I created this box to hold the NE5532 Low Noise Low Pass filter board. This gives a number of benefits, a stereo to mono adapter for subwoofers and an adjustable low pass filter and volume controls. This is quite a tight fit but I managed to get everything inside and it works perfectly and has actually improved the low frequencies a lot. I power it from a battery that has a 12v dc out.
