Necklace/Keychain Symbolism - Catholic Saints and the Sacrament of Confirmation

This lesson has students taking the knowledge gained from previous lessons and finding symbolism to demonstrate their understanding. This could be used with various figures in history classes, books/characters in reading courses, or many other content areas with a little creative thinking. In my class, students had recently chosen saints for their upcoming Confirmation (eighth-grade). Students started by researching the life and times of their Catholic saint of choice. Students then created a comic book using the Book Creator app to visually display the life and times of their saint. After completing this, students then chose a symbol that represented the life of their saint. Using TinkerCAD, students created a blank keychain/necklace that was approximately 1.5" in diameter. Students used multiple cylinders to create the blank top and tube for the chain to attach through. After creating the blank, students used the scribble tool to draw their own design or found an image with correct attributions (reuse with modification) to use for their symbol.
