For the "needled" I used 0.6mm piano wire I purchased on eBay for other project: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Piano-Music-Wire-Replacement-of-Broken-Strings-Diameter-0-3-to-2mm/282554730171?hash=item41c99306bb:m:mBJZXBIQur3cTm_DZrYvBew I guess paper clips can be used as well, but you will need to clip drill the holes to make them wider. The gripper part require printing with support.
